Often, adult children live far from their aging parents, and don’t get to engage as often as they’d like in the senior care services their parents require. Sometimes it is a shock to go home to the San Dimas area and realize that your parents aren’t doing as well as they claimed over the phone. In fact, you may see an immediate need for your parents to start receiving in home care giving services.
Of those elderly that survive a serious fall in the home, 50 percent lose their mobility, and 40 percent, their independence forever. Emergency response technology, along with sound senior home care practices can mitigate the effects of falls through early (and virtually immediate) intervention, increasing the chances that injury can be minimized and the likelihood of a shorter hospital stay and a more likely chance of returning quickly to their independent life at home in greater San Dimas.
The important conversations you need to have with your senior loved ones can be emotional and difficult. According to Gerontologists at Texas A & M University, making a senior care decision for your loved one should also consider their comfort and personal preferences.
As the home care experts, Homewatch CareGivers serving Greater Los Angeles and San Bernardino County offers a Guide to In-Home Senior Safety to help adult children breach the topic of independent living with their elderly parents whether they receive senior care in their homes or their care givers come to a facility.
