Thank you for wanting to read the whole story. What is life all about?
Well, my life changed forever when my sister committed suicide in 2005. My sister was a single mother who had issues in the past with mental illness and alcohol. She was a loving mother to her son and was a good friend to many people. I thought I knew her but it turned out I really didn't know her as did other people. When I went to her Memorial Service in New York, I heard from people about how she changed their lives. Even though she was dealing with her own internal demons, she had time and desire to help so many people. She did it one-on-one and maybe she didn't even know how much of an impact she had on these people.
After the Memorial Service I took a long look at my life at age 55. I am very proud of my volunteer work over the last 20 years and I wanted to turn my volunteer work into a full time profession. My volunteer work included:
* 14 years on the Board of Directors of a school for children with dyslexia
* 8 years delivering for Meals on Wheels
* 5 years as a guardian ad-litem
* Individually raised over $60,000 for the National MS Society
* Assisted a friend who lived independently even though she was in her mid 90s
So when I heard of Homewatch CareGivers I said:
"This is what I want to do for the remainder of my working career"
I have no hesitation stating that we are the BEST Home Care Agency in the Upstate because that is how I structured the business.
* Our Care Management team spends more hours than any other agency with clients and family members
* Our Care Management Team will meet with Social Workers before the client is released from the Hospital or Rehabilitation Center to make sure we know everything we need to know about the client before he or she goes home.
* All of our caregivers understand why I opened the office and they share my desire to serve (or they aren't here long)
