Homewatch CareGivers Franchise Partners: What Does the Future Hold?

5/25/2010 1:40:30 PM

This year's Homewatch CareGivers Franchise Partner Conference went off without a hitch — and left the Homewatch CareGivers community inspired and excited for the future of home care.

Homewatch CareGivers' Annual Franchise Partner Conference is a time for franchise partners to come together. It's a time for learning new business tactics, finding inspiration, and gaining momentum to expand. After this year's successful conference, one thing is clear: Homewatch CareGivers is growing and thriving. This year marks the 30th anniversary of providing exceptional home care, and franchise partners couldn’t be more excited for the amazing things to come. Homewatch International interviewed franchise owners in attendance to find out what the future holds.

Joining Forces to Flourish

It’s unanimous! Homewatch CareGivers franchise partners across the country are collaborating with strategic partners — such as independent living, hospice care and home health care agencies — to help their businesses flourish, while building integrity and enhancing services. “I’m most excited about the integration of our various business partners; the way we are working together in a collaborative format to collectively grow our businesses and the Homewatch CareGivers brand”, says Mitch Abrams, Homewatch CareGivers franchise partner, Chicago. By partnering with companies who can supplement personal and companion care with other needed services, Homewatch partners are helping clients to establish a reliable and trustworthy network of care.

Paving the Way With Pathways to Memory

Pathways to Memory is a unique memory care program targeted to maintain cognitive abilities, skills and independence in clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or any other memory-impairing illness. “Pathways to memory — that’s the buzzword", says Homewatch CareGivers franchise partner Katherine Parks of Columbia, Maryland. "We are rolling out a state-of-the art, tiered program with a big push! Level 1 services include every-day client engagement. Our caregivers invite clients to help us make breakfast, instead of simply making breakfast for them. We encourage them to have a more purposeful life, along with giving them new memories. This level of services is easily incorporated into existing caregiver-client relationships. Level 2 services begin with testing and assessment to better understand the progression of dementia. We then customize a therapeutic program, utilizing memory cards and directed activities, targeting specific improvements. After 12 weeks, we reassess, and it’s amazing the progress we see. Often, the work of our caregivers helps clients remain at home, which is the goal.” Because of the success that Homewatch Caregivers has had in regenerating and creating memories with clients, franchise partners are embracing this one-of-a-kind, extraordinary program and are looking forward to making it more accessible in their local communities.

Growth Without Compromise: A Word from Leanne Reynolds, President of Homewatch International

In 1980 a company was born; dedicated to preserving dignity, protecting independence and providing peace of mind to clients and their families through the delivery of exceptional home care. 2010 is a year of celebration for the Homewatch CareGivers brand. It is our vision to be the premier provider of home care services worldwide. “I think what I’m most proud of is the foundation on which we started: the need for care and compassionate, trained caregivers. That is exactly who we are and where we’re going. This year, which marks our 30th anniversary, we’re really focused on growth without compromise. By expanding our business in thoughtful ways, we get to provide premiere quality services to more people, without compromising our mission vision and values. The energy of the conference this year has been amazing. The number of people who are celebrating — who are looking back while also looking forward — is inspiring. This year’s conference seems to have given partners a chance to revitalize, regroup, reset, rejoice and move”, says Leann Reynolds, Homewatch CareGivers International, President.
