National Private Duty Association

As a leader in the home care industry, Homewatch CareGivers is proud to be a Voting Member of the National Private Duty Association.  The National Private Duty Association (NPDA) is the nation's first association for providers of private duty home care. NPDA was founded on the principle that quality private duty home care has one model of care and that model is to employ, train, monitor and supervise caregivers, create a plan of care for the client and work toward a safe and secure environment for the person at home.

Members of the NPDA employ trained caregivers and assume all responsibility for the payroll and all related taxes - this is never passed off to the customer in the way it can be if clients work with private caregivers or through registries. Not all home care services offer the same peace of mind, and there are some important, but often unrecognized, issues to consider when hiring a caregiver. Home care services are best when provided through an agency that employs, trains, bonds and insures, and background checks its caregivers. This allows to you have peace of mind knowing that you are bringing someone into your home that you can trust and who is trained to do the job well. In addition, the agency will take care of any legal issues that occur should the caregiver or client be injured on the job.

The National Private Duty Association is a leadership organization for home care companies whose caregivers are their employees. As an active member of this organization we are able to participate and collaborate with our fellow private duty companies to help drive the industry. Together, we share best practices and work together to advocate for our clients and our caregivers.
