Years ago Brian Levitan and his family became the caregivers of his elderly father-in-law in Ottawa. Sam had worked as a baker at Rideau Bakery his whole life! Slowing down from being an active senior was a challenge as his body became more frail. He was feeling lonely, bored and unable to care for himself. Brian and his family came up with a home care plan where they took turns visiting and showering him and making sure he had something stimulating and joyful to do every day. This personal experience inspired Brian to enter the field of senior care. Brian joined Homewatch Caregivers due to its over 30 years of maintaining a high standard of in home health care. To gain more insight into challenges faced by today's elders and their families, Brian is a Certified Senior Advisor, and is a Certified Trainer for The Eden Alternative (see www.edenalt.org) Eden at Home program.
