Safe Toys and Gifts Month
11/22/201
Many toys and gifts given in December are accidents waiting to happen. This is why Prevent Blindness America has sponsored this initiative. Ensure that your gifts are safe with their safe toys checklist. They state that “too often, accidents do occur and may result in eye injuries. Each year, thousands of children age 14 and younger suffered serious eye injuries, even blindness, from toys.”
If you are shopping for an elderly loved one, it’s always a good idea to give gifts that keep them safe. For many caregivers, new advances in telecare are a lifesaver. See Parent Giving’s article “The 5 Best Holiday Gift Ideas For Seniors” for safe gift ideas.
