What Does a Caregiver Do?
Your in-home caregiver job at Homewatch CareGivers is anything but typical. As a local team member, you will work with many different individuals. Customized care plans are designed to help you get to know each client, from understanding their likes and dislikes to knowing any unique routines that bring joy to their lives.

Caring for a client with progressed or complex care needs by providing moderate to extensive assistance with ADLs or IADLs.
Who you are:
This care level will require a caregiver trained in more advanced complex personal care skills. Job requirements will vary by state and position.
What you’ll do:
- Support the client's overall well-being by building a meaningful connection, assuring autonomy, and providing safety and security.
- Help bathe, dress, groom, and assist with other things people do throughout the day.
- Provide care for clients with special and/or chronic care conditions such as dementia or people who have had a stroke.

Who you are:
Someone who wants to help others. You may have cared for loved ones, have prior professional caregiving experience, or are on a path to becoming a nurse, therapist, or healthcare professional. No specific degrees or certifications are required to apply. You will be provided with training and any necessary licenses (which vary by state).
What you’ll do:
- Support your client’s well-being by building personal connections, creating meaningful social engagement, helping with independence, and providing security.
- Assist with shopping, light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and other instrumental activities of daily living. (IADLs)
- Assist those who can walk, wash, dress, eat, groom, and use the toilet independently. You may provide encouragement, help oversee activities, provide setup assistance, etc.
- Document all visits.
