National Falls Prevention Awareness Day
The National Council on Aging sponsors the annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day on the Fall Equinox, Sept. 22, 2016.

Falls are leading cause of injuries that require a visit to the emergency room for older adults. Many falls can be prevented when simple changes are made in the home or fitness routines that emphasize balance are incorporated.

The 2016 theme is Ready, Steady, Balance: Prevent Falls in 2016 and the official social media hashtag for this year’s event is #FPAD2016.
