Homewatch CareGivers of Mississauga is looking for compassionate, reliable, dependable, honest and competent Caregivers and Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team and care for clients in their homes in Mississauga and parts of Brampton.


Delivery of care in compliance with a client’s care plan which can include:

  • Safety and companionship.
  • Light housekeeping, linen and laundry change.
  • Menu planning, meal preparation and setup.
  • Personal grooming like bathing OR getting dressed.
  • Moving around: getting in and out of the bed/shower.
  • Medication reminders.
  • Helping a person with Alzheimer's or Dementia by grounding and orienting them.
  • Toileting/incontinence assistance.
  • Errands like grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions.
  • Transportation (will require a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance).

Caregivers will be required to observe and document client conditions as per company’s standards. Caregivers must be observant enough to recognize changes in their clients, and be capable of alerting the appropriate personnel when necessary. Caregivers are not allowed to smoke in clients’ homes and must have their own transportation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a caregiver in a professional or personal home care setting or skilled facility. Nursing students with no experience are also welcome to apply.
  • Must be able to function with minimal supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship with the client.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. English mandatory, additional languages a plus.
  • Able to work days, evening, nights and weekends
  • Valid Canadian citizenship/RP.
  • Recent Police criminal check/Vulnerability sector check.
  • Immunization record.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Smartphone.
  • Reliable vehicle and auto insurance (not mandatory for caregivers who will not be driving clients).
  • At least two professional references.
  • For PSWs: Valid & current PSW certificate, First Aid/CPR and TB Test.
Physical Qualifications:

This is a physically demanding job. Caregivers are expected to be do the following on a regular basis.

  • Able to bend, climb, stoop, reach and stand an average of 5 hours per day on a frequent basis with good hand, arm and shoulder dexterity.
  • Able to lift 20 – 30 kg and assist clients with standing, walking, sitting and rolling in bed.
  • Able to use tools necessary for job.
