Columbia Glen Burnie, Sykesville, and Howard County

At Homewatch CareGivers in Columbia, Maryland, our approach to caring for our clients starts with thinking of each of them as the individuals that they are and not a list of symptoms. We take the time to engage with our clients and get to know them. When we hire our caregivers we also think of their unique skills and interests so we can pair them appropriately with clients to create a meaningful relationship of care.

Always Caring

If you are considering joining our team or researching care for a loved one, it can be helpful to know who we are.

When people need professional in home care, there are often many changes going on in their lives. One of our caregivers, Yinka A., sees them through these transitions with kindness and grace.

“One of my clients had to be moved to an assisted living facility, but now I take care of her husband and we go visit her to make sure they are taking really good care of her since I knew her so well,” she says.

Yinka A. is a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Medical Technician (MT), who has been Employee of the Year and Employee of the Month at Homewatch CareGivers. “It means a lot to me to be recognized in this way,” she says. “When I received ‘Employee of the Year’ and celebrated with a small office party, it brought tears to my eyes and I asked myself, ‘Why me?’.”

Despite this humble attitude, Yinka does know that she is good at her job because she treats her clients like family. “I take care of them just as I would my own mother,” Yinka explains. “It is a rewarding job and I love it.”
