At Homewatch CareGivers of Western Washington, our growing team is made up of approximately 140 professional caregivers who are licensed as Certified Nursing Assistants, Registered Nursing Assistants, and Home Care Aides. So when you pay for home care, you receive the backing of an entire care team.

With each care option, ask about caregiver to client ratio, how personalized services are for the individual, who is responsible for taxes, insurance and worker’s compensation, and find out if there are additional expenses such as meals and utilities. Consider the level of independence for the person receiving each type of long-term care and how this matches with their personality. For example, one of our former clients, a retired physician, lived for many years with ALS. His passion was auditing university classes. We provided him with a care team that was able not only to drive him to class in his customized van, but also prepared to react in case of equipment failure. Our team participated in training drills on a regular basis to practice use of the ambu bag, the extra portable ventilator, and the cough assist.

We also work alongside other care providers. For example, one of our clients lives in an Assisted Living Facility. She had a stroke about 7 years ago and is no longer able to drive. The family hired us to provide supplemental personal care, helping her with her daily showers, drive her to physical therapy appointments, shopping and errands, and prepare her morning meal. The facility provides the meals, however Mrs. M likes to sleep in and have breakfast in her apartment. Also, the transportation provided by the facility does not offer the flexibility she wants, and Homewatch CareGivers is able to step in and provide those services.

Please give us a call so we can provide specific costs for the care you may need and asses your options.
