Care Available 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week.
I would recommend Homewatch CareGivers because they were professional. The staff really cares about their clients, it's not just a job for them. It is something they really enjoy doing!

Homewatch CareGivers of Edina & the West Metro home care holds a comprehensive home care license and we are regulated by the Minnesota Department of Health. This licensure means that we are able to provide a wide variety of services from transportation and chores around the house to assistance with personal cares, medication management, registered nurse services as well as specialty care for people living with chronic conditions such as Diabetes, Dementia, COPD and Parkinson’s disease. Comprehensive agencies are also able to provide physical,
occupational and speech therapies if they choose to do so and many of these services can be covered by Medicare/Medicaid, however additional certifications are required.
At Homewatch CareGivers of Edina & the West Metro,
we choose to utilize the scope of our license to focus on personal care rather
than the therapeutic care often covered through Medicare certification.
Instead, we work in tandem with medicare-certified home health care
organizations that do provide physical, occupational or speech therapies
as well as hospice care. These therapies generally require a doctor’s order and
are intermittent and short term. It might be that a PT comes twice per week for
an hour per session, however they aren’t going to assist with bathing, grooming
or dressing while they are in the home. Hospice care might include twice a week
bathing assistance, but they aren’t available for more than a couple of hours
at a time and they don’t provide home maintenance, meal preparation,
transportation or medication management. Medicare doesn’t pay for extended or
long term care or for certain tasks such as home maintenance. So home care can
be used to fill in all the gaps not covered by Medicare. At Homewatch
CareGivers of Edina home care, we recommend that our clients take advantage of
all “covered services” that are available to them first – then develop a
schedule with us to fill in all the other care needs. That can range from a few
hours a few days a week to 24/7 care.
A home healthcare agency that offers therapeutic types
of care can change your loved one’s therapy if it’s not working, and caregivers
with a partner home care agency are there to encourage them to accomplish those
therapies. RN’s from both agencies coordinate client care, prescription and
pain management and our caregivers report any changes in condition to both
agencies. At Homewatch CareGivers' our person-directed approach to caregiving
helps an individual to the best of their current abilities so that they
continue to feel empowered and fulfilled.
