  • Caregivers are either LNA’S (Licensed Nursing Assistant) or PCPs (Personal Care Providers).
  • Caregivers must be reliable, dependable, honest, and caring.
  • Caregivers may need to take clients to appointments or run errands. This will require them to possess a valid driver’s license and to have current automobile insurance.
  • Caregivers must be observant enough to recognize changes in their clients, and be capable of alerting the appropriate personnel when necessary.

Job Responsibilities

  • As a Home Health Aide you will be responsible for assisting clients’ daily living functions and activities in a safe and beneficial manner.
  • You will be provided with initial training on our company’s policies and procedures of effective home health. Your goal will be to maintain a professional relationship with clients and families.


Other requirements of the Caregiver role include:
  • LNA/CNA Certified Nursing Assistant license.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • 1+ year of experience as a caregiver in a home health setting or facility.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds and use necessary tools.
  • Able to work an average of 20-40 hours per week.
  • Ability to bend, climb, stoop, and stand on an average of 5 hours per day.
  • Must be able to function with minimal supervision.
  • Satisfactory background screening results.
  • No smoking allowed in clients’ homes.
  • Valid Driver’s License, Auto Insurance and Personal Vehicle.



Nature of job:

The Nurse RN on Staff conducts intake and supervision on personal care cases when it requires a higher level of expertise than the regular staff can accommodate. The Nurse on Staff also provides training for staff, caregivers, and clients on a regular schedule and when called to do so. 10-20 hours per week to start, could transition to full time if desired.

Scope of Position

Reports to the governing body and/or owner.

Major Responsibilities

The Nurse on Staff conducts client intake, manages client services, provides supervision and training for all home care service staff. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures that all caregivers receive on-the-job training as needed for specific clients.
  • Participates in ongoing training for caregivers during their employment with Homewatch CareGivers.
  • Meets with new and prospective clients and performs assessments of service needs.
  • Creates a Care Plan for all new clients after assessment and updates Care Plans as needed.
  • Reviews charting in spirals and companion charts for clients monthly.
  • Meets with clients after service has started to ensure quality care.
  • Communicates with case managers, caregivers, office staff, clients, family members, and other medical professionals about client’s needs and concerns.
  • Makes scheduled or unscheduled visits with clients to perform nursing tasks requested by clients, family members, or office staff.
  • Consults with the staffing manager regarding the supervision of services.
  • Assists staff, caregivers, and clients with problem-solving related to Homewatch CareGivers services.
  • Provides or arranges in-service training to staff and caregivers on health maintenance services.
  • When requested, assesses the skill level of new caregivers and recommends additional training, if necessary.
  • Performs client evaluations when requested, or when mandated by the State or County.
  • Performs the Quality Assurance visits on the above-mentioned cases not less than every 90 days, including taking vital signs.
  • Approves the caregiver assignment in the above-mentioned cases.
  • Any other duty requested to maintain the operations of the business including caregiving duties.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Staff development, home care or home health experience preferred.
  • CPR Instructor-Certified helpful but not required.
  • License clear of infractions required. Experience in geriatrics a must, cardiac, pulmonary and life-altering physical and mental diseases a plus.
  • Conveys professionalism with Homewatch CareGivers clients, their families and referral sources.
  • Must maintain skills and learning on an ongoing basis, as well as adhering to Homewatch CareGivers, local, state and federal policies.
  • Has background in managing other heath care professionals.
  • Must be able to function with minimal supervision, multi-task, problem solve and make decisions on a timely basis.
  • Must have knowledge and be able to supervise and train on all following items: Ambulation, Bathing/shampooing, Dressing, Food handling, Backrubs, Bed-baths, Denture care, Exercising, Feeding, Finger and nail care, Foot care, Shaving, Toileting with bedpan, commode, urinal Transfers, Turning and positioning, Walker assistance, Wheelchair assistance, Vital Signs, Monitoring blood glucose, Catheter care, Monitor Intake/output, Non-sterile dressing changes, Oxygen care, Perineal care, Basic wound care, Basic skin care, Medication dispensing, Nebulizer treatments, G-Tube care.
  • Satisfactory background screening results.
  • Software experience with Word, Excel and other application.

Physical Qualifications:
  • Able to work an average of 10-20 hours per week to start, with option to expand to full time if desired.
  • Able to bend, climb, stoop, and stand an average of 5 hours per day.
  • Able to lift 20-30 pounds.
  • Able to use tools necessary for job.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
