Homewatch CareGivers of Solon- Our Story
When my Aunt was stricken with Alzheimer’s in the late 90’s, it took me about five years before I fully understood the impact it would have on my family. It was during that time that I became inspired to open my own home care company, which I did in 2006.
Born and raised in Youngstown, it was not uncommon to be a football fan. In that area, you either bled brown and orange (the good guys) or black and gold (the bad guys). In the 70’s, the Steelers were great, and the Browns were not. Since I have always been wired to back the underdog, I grew up a Browns fan.
Why is this relevant? Because we help some of the most vulnerable people in the community. (e.g. the elderly, those with special needs, veterans, people who are unable to privately pay for care, etc.)
After opening the Beachwood office in 2006, we expanded to Westlake and to Solon. If you work with our Homewatch team, you have to believe in our purpose, which is to maximize the quality of Life for our clients, instill Peace of Mind for their loved ones, and advocate for those who are vulnerable. We have helped more than 2,000 families largely because of the emphasis we place upon respecting, supporting and communicating with our client and caregivers.
We work with some people for five days and others for five years. And I am just as proud to say that the first two people I hired, Lisa and Ashley, are still actively helping our clients.
