Caregivers come to the job with natural characteristics like compassion, patience, and a desire to make other happy, along with the ability to learn the skillset of providing care for specific needs. The very best caregivers have respect for the work they do and the people that they work with every day. Meet some of our caregivers at Homewatch CareGivers serving the Meridian and Boise area in Idaho.

Always Caring

Tevon Carringer Shortridge, 25, is more of a listener than a talker. “The thing I love about my job is getting to hear the stories of my clients and learning new things about their youth,” she says. “I think I’m good at what I do because I listen to clients and let them have the lead.”

Yet caregivers need care too, and she admits she likes it when she gets recognition at work. “The most meaningful way I was recognized [at work] was by a nice card and being told how much value I am to the company.”

Michelle Arte, CNA, has been nominated for Caregiver of the Year with Homewatch CareGivers in Boise. She has been with the company since 2011 and continues to be one of the most “high demand” caregivers on the staff, with clients requesting her specifically when they need care.

“I love helping people,” the bubbly 51-year old caregiver says.
