When my father needed home care, I was completely overwhelmed. He's a veteran, and I kept hearing there were benefits he'd earned that could help pay for his home care — through the VA and through his long-term care insurance — but I had no idea where to even start. They sat down with us in my dad's home and walked our whole family through exactly what to do, step by step. They explained how to access his VA home care benefits, and they were just as knowledgeable about the long-term care insurance side — my dad's policy is through CalPERS, and they knew exactly how it worked. They helped us understand what his LTCI benefits actually covered, walked us through filing the claim, and supported us with the paperwork so it never became a burden. When questions came up, they had answers. Between the two benefits, most of my dad's home care ended up being covered — the benefits he'd worked his whole life to earn — and he could feel proud using them. But the biggest thing they gave us was peace of mind. From the way they hire, train, and lead their caregivers, we trusted this team completely. The home care my dad receives is respectful, reliable, and genuinely compassionate. My siblings and I can go to work every day knowing he's looked after with the same attention and love we'd give him ourselves. I can't recommend them enough — especially to any veteran's family trying to figure out how to get the home care their parent deserves.

Wonderful Care Homewatch Caregivers is a wonderful company that truly cares about their clients. They provide excellent one-on-one care, especially for elderly individuals and those living with dementia. HomeWatch Caregivers has been providing care for my dad for nearly three years, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the care and support we have received. My dad is 95 years old, a Korean War veteran, and a man who spent his entire life taking care of his family and making sure we were provided for. As his daughter and his caregiver, it is extremely important to me that he receives the absolute best care possible. I am so grateful that, as a veteran, he has access to the services he needs. Over the nearly three years we have been with HomeWatch, we have had several CNAs, but I can honestly say that only three have been exceptional. And that is not a reflection of the others—it is simply how difficult it is to find someone who is truly the right fit for your loved one. The three who have been exceptional have each had to step away at different points for their own personal reasons, health situations, or family circumstances. And I completely understand that caregivers have lives and families of their own. Sometimes they have to step away to take care of themselves or someone they love. One of those exceptional caregivers was Victoria. She was wonderful with my dad, but eventually she had to step away. When that happened, I immediately became concerned because finding a good CNA is not easy. When you have a 95-year-old parent who is at a delicate stage in life, you worry about who will come into your home and care for them. Before the company could place us with someone else, I thought of Laquana. We had Laquana previously, and I knew firsthand how wonderful she was. I wondered if she had enough time in her life to come back to us, so I was the first person to reach out to her. Thankfully, she was available, and the company was able to coordinate everything with her. And I have been so grateful ever since. Laquana has been absolutely awesome. She is dependable, punctual, compassionate, and caring. She goes above and beyond to make sure my dad is comfortable, clean, cared for, and treated with dignity. She works six days a week while also having a family and a young son, and I truly appreciate the dedication she gives to my dad. Our Sunday CNA, Tracy, is also wonderful. She is my dad’s Sunday caregiver, and we absolutely love her. She is kind, attentive, and does an excellent job caring for him. I have learned through this experience that CNAs are truly the backbone of home care. They provide so much more than assistance with daily activities. They provide companionship, conversation, comfort, dignity, and reassurance. They help keep their client’s area clean and organized, make sure they are cared for, and often do so much more than what is simply listed in their job description. I also believe that having a compassionate and consistent CNA can make a tremendous difference in an older person’s quality of life. Having someone other than your family caregiver there to talk to, care for you, and make sure you are comfortable can mean everything. I hope HomeWatch understands and appreciates the tremendous value that caregivers like Laquana and Tracy bring—not only to my dad’s life, but to mine as well. As a daughter and caregiver, knowing that someone I trust is taking excellent care of my dad gives me an incredible sense of peace. I am truly grateful to HomeWatch Caregivers, and especially to Laquana and Tracy, for the love, care, and dedication they give to my dad.
