This September and October, our Homewatch CareGivers of Fort Collins team took part in three local charitable walks to raise awareness and support families affected by Huntington’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

Our commitment to caring for others extends beyond the in-home services we provide. We also believe in supporting causes that affect local families, including members of our own Homewatch CareGivers family. This fall, we were proud to join community members who share our dedication to making a difference.

Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K in Denver

Our fall walking season began with the Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K, an annual comic book hero and villain-themed walk presented by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Rocky Mountain Chapter. The team, including two team members’ dogs, enjoyed the Denver event, which raised a record $49,000 for Huntington’s disease research, family services, and advocacy.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Fort Collins

On September 26, we gathered at Colorado State University in Fort Collins for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Dressed in purple, our team joined fellow community members for a walk across campus to recognize individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and support research, care, and advocacy initiatives.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Boulder

We finished the season on October 10 at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the University of Colorado Boulder. On a sunny day, we joined hundreds of people from across the area to support individuals living with Alzheimer’s and the families and caregivers who accompany them through their journey.

Caring for Our Community

Taking part in these events reinforced an important message: caring for others is a community effort. We extend our thanks to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered at the three walks. We’re proud to be part of a community that comes together to support individuals and families affected by these conditions.

At Homewatch CareGivers of Fort Collins, we help local families with non-medical in-home care services, including companionship, 24-hour home care, dementia care, chronic condition care, and respite care. We can help you learn about your options and find support that works for your family. To learn more, call (303) 444-1133 or contact us online.
