Tom purchased the Homewatch CareGivers franchise in early 2019 with the operation formally opening for business in November of 2019. Tom will be involved in all aspects of the operation including hiring caregivers and employees, matching clients to caregivers, employee orientation, training, and quality assurance to name a few. Tom chose Homewatch CareGivers as a franchise because of their philosophy and the exceptional thought they put in to caring for others loved ones. Tom is excited for the future and for the St. Cloud operation to flourish by helping care for others with the attention to detail, compassion, and empathy our elders deserve. Tom is married with three children and loves to spend time with his family and pets.
My name is Sara Niewind, RN and I am the Nurse Administrator for Homewatch CareGivers in St. Cloud. I have been with Homewatch since November 2019 and have loved working here. I worked at the St Cloud Hospital for almost 22 years. I started out doing Registration in the Emergency Department and then eventually became a nurse. My passion for nursing started while working in the Emergency Room. My family supported the idea 110% and stood behind me during school. I went to Rasmussen and received my LPN in July 2015 and then my RN is August of 2019.
I am a single mother of two children ages 18 and 19 who continue to keep me busy along with all their friends. When I am not working, and my kids are not working we try to spend time together. I have three brothers and two sisters who are all older than me. I am the baby of the family. I love being able to spend time with my siblings and all my nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. I am going back to school to get my bachelor’s degree in Nursing hopefully in the next year. I love working with clients to help them stay in their homes. I have seen how important it is to clients and their families. I also seen firsthand what taking people out of their homes can do to them.
I took care of both of my parents at the end of their lives which I would never change. It was challenging at times and times I would look at my siblings and say, “here you do it.” So, I know firsthand what families are going through when I sit down and talk with them and they are overwhelmed.
I love to learn about nursing, and I love to make improvements on my own nursing skills each day. The things that I learn I put towards helping others and that is the most important to me. Helping others is all I have ever wanted to do. I can’t wait to continue helping clients and their families stay in their homes and getting the care that they should be getting and staying in their homes.
I am Brittany Travaglio. formerly Lafave. I married my husband Andy in 2017. We have two amazing kids, Braxton who is 6, and Huxson, 2. They keep me busy, Braxton races snowcross, following suit with his dad. Both of our kids ride dirt bikes and four-wheelers, they keep us on our toes!
I graduated from Kimball high school in 2011, heading to SCSU. I received my phlebotomy certification in 2015. I started at St. Cloud Hospital following my graduation from SCSU.
In-between working, my husband and I take vacations when we can. We spend a lot of time with friends and our families. Braxton and Huxson take most of our time, going to amusement parks and race tracks.
I started with Homewatch Caregivers of St. Cloud in July of this year, and on-call with the hospital since then. Tom is my father-in-law, so when he offered me a position to work alongside of him and our team I was happy to help. I have been spending the last few months training and learning the specifics of the company, with clientele, caregivers, billing, and working with the state. I am excited and ready to start my position in marketing.
