Ron and Jamie have over 50 years of combined experience in the healthcare industry. They have cared for patients in both hospital and outpatient settings. Jamie is a registered nurse with a master's degree in leadership and management. Ron has worked as a phlebotomist and EMT. The Riveras understand the complexities of navigating the healthcare system.
Additionally, Jamie and Ron know firsthand what it's like to care for an aging loved one. They have both assisted in caring for their own family members who experienced serious health issues. When Jamie's grandmother became ill, she needed around-the-clock care. It was important to their family to honor her wishes and help her to stay in her home.
The Riveras understand how difficult it can be to make the decision to bring someone into your home to care for your loved one. They started Homewatch CareGivers of Folsom to apply their business and life experiences to helping seniors and their families live where they choose with safety and peace of mind. Their mission is to be a trustworthy community resource and help their clients age with dignity in the comfort of their own homes.
Jamie and Ron are passionate about serving their community and caring for their clients as if they were their own family. As a family-owned business, they desire to extend their family to include their caregivers and those they care for in the community.
In Jamie’s own words, “We teach our caregivers about the Hawaiian word, Ohana, in our new employee orientation. Ohana means family. Ohana may be blood relatives, but Ohana can also be extended to others we care deeply for. In the Ohana culture, members have an obligation to act with respect and integrity. They mutually care for and support each other. This is the culture we want to develop for our work family and hope to extend to our clients.”
