Since opening his first Homewatch CareGivers franchise location in Arvada, Colorado, in 2011, Art Sanchez has led the company’s growth across three other locations—Boulder, Longmont, and Fort Collins—serving families throughout Boulder County and the north Denver suburbs.
Art’s commitment to home care started with caring for his father in the 1990s and later supporting his wife Melinda’s father until his passing in 2020. Today, he brings a spirit of camaraderie and competitiveness to his work, qualities shaped by his nearly six years in the U.S. Air Force.
Art served during the first Iraq conflict in the late 1980s, working on an A-10 Thunderbolt 2 before the U.S. entered the Gulf War. He was later awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for Excellence as a member of one of the 511th Aircraft Maintenance Unit’s weapons load crews at Royal Air Force Bentwaters, England. Melinda Yeary
Vice President
Melinda brings both empathy and expertise to her work in home care. And, like many of us, the path that led her there was time spent caring for family.
When her mother, Dolores, was diagnosed with cancer, Melinda became the primary caregiver while also supporting her father, Joe, who had mobility challenges. For Melinda, navigating their care without outside assistance was difficult and overwhelming—an experience that left a lasting impact.
After her mother’s passing, a colleague asked Melinda whether she had ever considered hiring a home care company during that time. She was surprised to learn this had been a possibility the whole time—and was dismayed no doctor had ever mentioned it to her!
Years later, when her father needed support, Melinda hired a local Homewatch CareGivers agency to assist him with mobility and fall prevention, dressing, and meals. She was thrilled to see just how much her father’s caregivers helped enhance his final years—with companionship, safety, and even moments of joy.
Since then, Melinda, who is married to Art and co-owns the agency, has been a passionate advocate of the benefits of home care for seniors and their families. She was even inspired to earn her certification as a Certified Senior Advisor to help more families find the best possible care for their loved ones.
A native of Colorado, Melinda graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a B.S. in marketing and journalism. She has worked in both fields as well as in real estate. Outside of her professional life, Melinda enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with her loved ones and pets, including taking her beloved dog to the creek for a swim.
Melinda is deeply involved in her community and actively supports the Food Bank of the Rockies, pet food drives, Feline Fix spay/neuter clinics for community cats, Sierra Club, the Huntington's Disease Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Alzheimer's Association, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, the ALS Association, and various veterans’ groups. She also led a Parkinson’s’ support group for six years and is a founding member of the “Friends of Red Rocks” nonprofit.Favorites: Hiking, reading, gardening, her sweet dog and cat, being an auntie, the color green, To Kill a Mockingbird (the book and movie), healthy salads (and rocky road ice cream), and community outreach and advocacyLife motto: "Do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.” –Benjamin Franklin
