Homewatch CareGivers of Longmont staff recently took part in a “housewarming” to celebrate the completion of VCP Village-Longmont, an innovative new housing community created by the Veterans Community Project for veterans experiencing homelessness.

Homewatch CareGivers team members served as volunteers at the event earlier this summer, which was attended by community residents, veterans, VCP staff, and state, regional and community leaders.

As a veteran-owned company and veteran-friendly employer, Homewatch CareGivers of Longmont is committed to supporting those who served with personalized veteran care designed to meet their unique needs. We’re proud to help veterans in any way we can, and a project like VCP embodies the spirit of service we try to bring to our work at Homewatch CareGivers.

“We’re honored to support such a meaningful project,” said Homewatch CareGivers of Longmont owner Art Sanchez, who is a veteran of the US Air Force. “My time in the military service shaped who I am today, so it’s incredibly important we give back to those who served.”

The veterans-only development is located on a two-acre property in Longmont and features 26 tiny homes and a 3,000-square-foot community center. Built with support from local donations and volunteers, VCP Village has everything veterans need to live with dignity and safety, including trauma-informed home design, new furniture, appliances, housewares, bedding, and utilities, all free. VCP’s Veteran Support Services team also provides free social services to help struggling vets get back on their feet.

At Homewatch Caregivers of Longmont, we proudly provide clients across the North Denver Suburbs and Boulder County with quality senior care services, veteran assistance, and more. As a veteran-friendly employer, we’re proud that nearly a third of our clients are veterans. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Veterans Community Project for hosting us and for the work you do.
