In a show of team spirit, our Homewatch CareGivers of Longmont team participated in three local charitable walks this September and October, raising awareness and supporting families affected by Huntington’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
For us, caring for our community means more than providing in-home care as part of our daily work. It also means showing up for causes that matter to local families, including members of our Homewatch CareGivers family who are personally affected. This season, we were proud to stand alongside others who share that commitment.
Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K in Denver
We kicked off our fall walks with the Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K, an annual comic book hero and villain-themed walk presented by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Rocky Mountain Chapter. The team (and two team members’ dogs!) had a blast at the Denver walk, which raised a record $49,000 for Huntington’s disease research, family services, and advocacy.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Fort Collins
On September 26, we headed to Colorado State University in Fort Collins for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Donning purple, our team joined community members to walk through campus in honor of individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease and to support research, care, and advocacy efforts.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Boulder
Finally, we wrapped up our walks for the season on October 10 at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the University of Colorado Boulder. On a brilliantly sunny day, we joined hundreds of people from across the community to show support for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and the families and caregivers who walk alongside them.

Caring For Our Community
For our team, walking was an important reminder that caring for others takes a community. A big thank-you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered at these three events! We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up for one another.
At Homewatch CareGivers of Longmont, we support local families through non-medical in-home care services such as companionship, 24-hour home care, dementia care, chronic condition care, or respite care. Our team is here to help you explore your options and find the support you need. To learn more, call (303) 444-1133 or contact us online.
