This September and October, our Homewatch CareGivers of Boulder team joined three local charitable walks to raise awareness and support families affected by Huntington’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
To us, caring for our community goes beyond the in-home care we provide every day. It also means supporting causes that matter to local families, including members of our own Homewatch CareGivers family who are personally affected. This fall, we were proud to join others who share our commitment to helping those in need.
Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K in Denver
We began our fall walking season at the Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K, an annual comic book hero and villain-themed walk hosted by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Rocky Mountain Chapter. Our team, including two team members’ dogs, enjoyed the Denver event, which raised a record $49,000 for Huntington’s disease research, family services, and advocacy.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Fort Collins
On September 26, our team traveled to Colorado State University in Fort Collins to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Wearing purple, we joined community members for a walk across campus to honor individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and support research, care, and advocacy.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Boulder
We concluded our fall walks on October 10 at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the University of Colorado Boulder. Under sunny skies, we joined hundreds of community members to show support for people living with Alzheimer’s, along with the families and caregivers who support them.

Caring for Our Community
Participating in these walks reminded us that caring for others is something we do together. Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and volunteered at these three events. We’re thankful to be part of a community that continues to come together to support one another.
At Homewatch CareGivers of Boulder, we help local families with non-medical in-home care services, including companionship, 24-hour home care, dementia care, chronic condition care, and respite care.
