Meet Julie Bochet

I am the Training Specialist at Homewatch CareGivers of Edina. I started with HWCG in October of 2016 as a caregiver and recently moved to the Training Specialist position.

I began volunteering in a nursing home at 16 as a candy striper and received my CNA certification at 18. I have worked in healthcare on and off throughout my career. I also have a degree in accounting.

As the Training Specialist for Homewatch CareGivers, I work with the nursing staff to provide extra training and support for our caregivers, especially those working with clients who have complex care needs. By having me train alongside our caregivers, they benefit from my years of experience and the client benefits by having more consistent care across the caregiver team.

My own experience with a broken leg and follow up health issues gave me an insight to what many of our clients need and feel when it comes time to ask for some help. I see what an important role caregivers play in our clients lives and I have a real appreciation for how hard it is to feel helpless.

My favorite part of my job is getting to know the people I work with. I love hearing about them - their stories, what they did in life, what they like and don’t like. It’s important to me to know both who they were and who they are.

The story of life is all about caring: for five children, for cats and dogs, and for my friends and family. I love experiencing the fullness of life through travel, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
