This September and October, our Homewatch CareGivers of Arvada team joined three local charitable walks to raise awareness and support families affected by Huntington’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
Caring for our community means more than providing in-home care every day. It also means standing behind causes that make a difference for local families, including members of our own Homewatch CareGivers family who are personally affected. This fall, we were glad to come together with others who share that commitment.
Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K in Denver
We started our fall walks with the Team Hope Heroes vs. Villains 5K, an annual comic book hero and villain-themed event presented by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Rocky Mountain Chapter. Our team, along with two team members’ dogs, had a great time at the Denver walk, which raised a record $49,000 for Huntington’s disease research, family services, and advocacy.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Fort Collins
On September 26, we joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Wearing purple, our team walked alongside community members to honor individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and support efforts in research, care, and advocacy.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Boulder
Our final walk of the season took place on October 10 at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the University of Colorado Boulder. With sunny weather and hundreds of community members in attendance, we came together to show our support for people living with Alzheimer’s and the families and caregivers who are there for them.

Caring for Our Community
These three walks were a reminder that supporting others takes a community effort. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered throughout the season. We appreciate being part of a community that continues to show up for individuals and families who need support.
At Homewatch CareGivers of Arvada, we provide non-medical in-home care services to help local families, including companionship, 24-hour home care, dementia care, chronic condition care, and respite care.
