My best friend made me her POA/Fiduciary and entrusted me to watch over her shortly before she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at 57 years old. We were both in shock, both cried and knew one day it was going to be a difficult journey we were going to travel. She made me promise to keep her in her own home as long as possible; and I did. BUT - I could have never ever been able to keep my promise to her if it were not for the outstanding caregivers of Homewatch - more specifically, Linda, Vera and Mary. The team showed kindness and care while preserving her dignity. And, when it was time that my friend could no longer live alone in safety, they were honest and told me it was time, rather than bilk her for more money. And the assistance didn't stop with just helping my friend, they listened to me cry, they explained this disease, they helped me be strong in front of my friend when I just wanted to breakdown and cry. I can go on and on about these three ladies. But I will close with this - not everyone or everything can be perfect, but they do their best to make certain your loved one is thier first last and only priorty when in their care, custody and control.
