Homewatch CareGivers has established a National Brand Standard of Quality Care Education. This brand standard consists of a minimum of 12 hours of education annually in areas that best support employees providing caregiving services.

Caregivers develop their skills through:

  • In-person learning to safely operate assistive devices, such as a mechanical lift, use of oxygen devices, and more.
  • Learning directly from industry experts, healthcare providers, various organizations, or associations such as the Alzheimer’s Association.
  • Online courses that teach how to safely provide care for those who have mobility issues and/or are at increased risk for falls.

Continuous training through Homewatch CareGivers Academy

Homewatch CareGivers Academy is a professionally developed online learning management system designed to train, inform, and support employees, as well as family members of clients. Access is available to partnering healthcare providers to enroll in accredited courses to assist in keeping their credentials current.

Learners have access to specialized training for subjects including (not limited to):

  • Dementia & Alzheimer’s care
  • Caring for those living with chronic conditions
  • Post-surgical care
  • Post-hospital care
  • Veteran care
  • Behavioral health
  • Caring for those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities

With nearly 600 courses and counting, Homewatch CareGivers Academy is a professionally developed platform designed to train employees, family members providing care, and the greater caregiver community. Its functionality provides evaluation components as well as robust reporting and data analysis capabilities. Learners have access to numerous specialized training content targeted in areas such as dementia care, behavioral health and care for those living with intellectual developmental disabilities.

At Homewatch CareGivers, safety is a top priority. We implement comprehensive safety protocols including caregiver background checks, infection control practices, fall prevention strategies, and regular care plan reviews. Our caregivers are trained to identify risks in the home and promote a safe, comfortable environment for every client.

We conduct annual background checks on all caregivers.

We provide at least 12 hours annually of employee training.

We perform in-person quality assurance visits every 90 days.

We conduct satisfaction surveys to monitor the care provided.
