One of the most enriching parts of the Homewatch CareGivers franchise system is the diverse set of franchisees that our proven concept attracts. Our franchisees come from all walks of life and varied professional backgrounds, but have found fulfillment combining their entrepreneurial ambitions with the desire to serve their communities.
But don’t take it from us – hear it directly from Belinda Gordon, who co-owns Homewatch CareGivers of Lehigh Valley with her husband, Paul.
Tell us about your professional background.
Prior to opening our Homewatch CareGivers, I worked in New York City at an investment banking firm. I was a vice president and managed the NASDAQ Agency Trading Desk.
Why did you want to become a Homewatch CareGivers franchisee?
My husband and I decided to open a home care agency before narrowing it down to Homewatch CareGivers. It was personal for me - my mother had MS and after all us kids were out of the house, she had caregivers helping her while my father was at work. We wanted to bring that kind of help and peace of mind to other families.
We decided on Homewatch CareGivers because we liked that they provided services to all ages, provided a higher level of personal care than other agencies did at that time and preferred to work with fewer franchises with larger territories than selling small territories.
Our values align well with Homewatch CareGivers because we believe in helping make our clients' lives as full and rewarding as possible while keeping them safe and well cared for at home.
What gives you the most satisfaction from owning and running your Homewatch CareGivers business?
It’s so rewarding to help people get back to activities and hobbies they used to enjoy.
