Over the past decade, Margie Lannon, owner of Homewatch CareGivers of Tucson and Green Valley in Arizona, has been providing care for not only the elderly and disabled, but also new mothers, children, surgery patients and many others who need assistance in order to remain in the comfort of their own homes.
Margie first developed a great deal of respect for caregivers while obtaining a degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she had an internship at a local nursing home.
For the next 25 years, Margie worked closely with troubled teenagers and lead them through extraordinary experiences, including hiking, rock climbing, sailing expeditions, bicycle treks and Wagon Train Treks that were designed to overcome distrust, build confidence and foster a sense of positive accomplishment.
As time passed, Margie aided her family and aging father through 15 years of Alzheimer’s Care. She felt a strong desire to return to giving back to the elder community, and, through extensive research, she discovered Homewatch CareGivers.
Margie opened Homewatch CareGivers of Tucson/Green Valley in 2009, and following the success of her first location, Margie recently expanded her business and bought another territory from an existing owner. The new location – Homewatch CareGivers of Green Valley – allows Margie to provide compassionate, professional in-home personal care and companionship services to even more people. Margie is a prime example of how current owners can buy an existing location and succeed when they follow Homewatch CareGivers’ proven process and fully embrace the tools that the brand offers.
For Margie, as well as many other Homewatch CareGivers franchise owners, opening her locations have been more than a valuable business move – it has allowed for an opportunity to provide assistance to those who need help and don’t know where to turn.
