Franchise Owner Success Story: Insights From Successful Franchise Owners

Three people holding hands

Franchise ownership has the potential to not only provide financial freedom but also offer a unique way to make a difference in people's lives. One such inspiring example is Stacy Thornberry, the franchise owner of Homewatch CareGivers. Through her dedication, compassion, and entrepreneurial spirit, Stacy has transformed the life of a client, proving that franchise ownership can be a vehicle for positive change.

Stacy, owner of Homewatch CareGivers of Northern Kentucky is going above and beyond to make a difference in their community. One individual who has captured her and her staff’s hearts is Frank, a disabled senior who has experienced three strokes and is now confined to a wheelchair. Despite the challenges he faces, the staff at Homewatch CareGivers has formed a special bond with Frank and is determined to make the holiday seasons memorable through a donation drive called Friendsgiving for Frank.

Frank resides alone in a two-story home that has fallen into disrepair due to neglect during his time in a nursing home. Currently, he lives only in his bedroom and the adjoining kitchen, cordoning off the rest of the house with a flimsy sheet. Recognizing his dire circumstances, the compassionate staff members of Homewatch CareGivers regularly visit Frank every two weeks. Their visits involve providing him with groceries, completing his laundry and other household chores, and assisting him in maintaining what little remains of his home.

Describing the dedicated workers, Frank himself shared that, "They're three of the most wonderful people you'll ever meet." However, with winter swiftly approaching, the caregivers understood that the thin blanket on Frank's bed and the sparse cans of food in his cabinets wouldn't suffice. Hence, they decided to turn to the community for support. This led to the creation of Friendsgiving for Frank, an initiative that has garnered incredible generosity and support.

Thanks to the overwhelming response from the community, the Friendsgiving for Frank donation drive has raised over $1,550. Additionally, numerous warm clothing items, bedding, blankets, food, personal hygiene products, and gift cards have been generously donated. The outpouring of support showcases the collective determination to improve Frank's quality of life and bring joy to his days.

For Stacey Thornberry, Frank's struggles represent a much larger issue affecting many disabled individuals who lack access to adequate care and support. She sees this as an opportunity to extend friendship, kindness, and raise awareness about the plight of those who are disabled and alone. Thornberry believes that by highlighting Frank's story through Friendsgiving for Frank, they can draw attention to the numerous individuals in our neighborhoods who yearn for companionship and basic assistance.

Through franchise ownership, Stacy and her staff were able to make a difference in Franks and many other peoples lives.
