In honor of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, during the month of September we are spotlighting stories our franchisees have shared on how their businesses are part of the “Business of Care.” For more information on how you can be part of the business care, visit our Franchise Website.
“We recently gained a new client that came to us after a poor experience with another Home Care Company. We knew we would have to go above and beyond to show this client what exceptional care really is.
We sent one of our best and sweetest caregivers there; we were confident she could win her over. Lorissa was up for the challenge! She wanted the client to start each day on the best note. Our client loves Elvis, so Lorissa plays Elvis every morning while the client gets ready. The client absolutely loves it. She and Lorissa even dance down the hallway together, giggling the entire time. When Lorissa told the client’s granddaughter, she was in disbelief. She hadn’t seen her grandmother dance in years!
One morning, the granddaughter was able to see and dance with her grandmother and said it was one of her favorite moments. Lorissa’s only shortcoming is her lack of experience in the kitchen. This is very important to the client so Lorissa looks up recipes and teaches herself how to make the client’s favorite dishes. Lorissa puts the food in fun shapes, such as hearts and smiley faces to make up for not being an excellent chef. She says her client’s face always lights up every time she sees the fun design!
Lorissa continues to provide exceptional care, while making each day special for her client.”
