Connecting with People with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease

Presented by: Homewatch CareGivers of Crystal Lake in Partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association

We are very excited about our upcoming virtual event, “Effective Communication Strategies” hosted in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association! In this free event, you can learn from a panel of experts at the Alzheimer’s Association about how to effectively communicate with your loved ones who are living with Dementia and/or Alzheimer’s Disease.

One of the most common challenges faced by the families and caregivers of people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease involves communication. Many people feel because a person living with Alzheimer’s Disease cannot communicate like they used to that communication, intimacy, and connection are impossible. However, this session shows us that while Alzheimer’s and Dementia will change the ways we communicate with our loved ones, it does not necessitate a loss of intimacy and connection. This session will give us techniques and strategies for effective communication that can facilitate intimacy and connection with our loved ones living with Alzheimer’s Disease and/or Dementia.

If this event is something you or someone you know may be interested in, register here! Or call Homewatch CareGivers of Crystal Lake at 815.459.1502 to learn more.
