A Client's Story ...
Erns served faithfully in the U.S. Navy for over 30 years. We are grateful
for his service. He and his wife, Marilyn, have been married for almost
60 years! They have always led an active lifestyle. Erns, Marilyn, and
their children are huge tennis fans. They used to enjoy playing tennis
themselves, but with their health limitations now enjoy watching it. Several
years ago, Erns was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, and Homewatch
Caregivers has been helping them since 2017. We currently provide care
three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening. We assist with
safe transfers and ambulation, showering and dressing assistance, meal
preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation as requested. We recently
interviewed Erns and his wife …
Q: Why do like Homewatch Caregivers?
A: “First and foremost they are caring, and very efficient, and responsive.”
Q: How has Homewatch Caregivers been helpful to you?
A: “I think you’re more than helpful. I just think you’re a lifesaver to me.”
Q: We know you have used other caregiving companies in the past. Is there
something that stands out when comparing HW to other companies?
A: “The quality of our caregiver.”
Q: What is your favorite memory with your caregiver?
A: “The night Marilyn strained her back and our son took her to the ER. When
we returned home, our son was able to care for Erns, but Marilyn needed
help readying for bed. Marilyn said, 'Call Cami!.' Cami came and helped
Marilyn get ready and into bed. Cami is like family to us!”
Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?
A: “Erns is suffering from Parkinson’s and dementia. Without Cami it would be
impossible for me to keep him at home.”
Homewatch Caregivers is honored to provide the care that Erns needs. He goes for walks outside and practices his speech therapy exercises with Cami. He enjoys a good game of Yahtzee or anything involving trivia! We look forward to helping Erns stay healthy and safe living at home for many years to come.
