FAQ no.4: Minimum Hour Requirements in Home Care Services - Do we require a minimum number of hours?

A question we frequently hear from our potential clients is whether we have a minimum number of hours required to provide service. The short answer is no, we don’t. However, it is important to note that the shorter the shift, the higher the hourly rate. For example, shifts lasting from 1-3 hours may range anywhere from $50 to $80 per hour.

For example, if a client seeks just one hour of care per week. While we're more than willing to accommodate such requests, it's a challenge to entice caregivers for such brief shifts without fair compensation that makes it worthwhile for them.

This is OUR answer. Different agencies have different rules, and some agencies have a required minimum number of hours per week or shift length. For instance, some agencies opt solely for 4-, 8-, or 12-hour shifts. This approach sacrifices flexibility but makes it easier to provide full-time work for caregivers.
