May Caregiver of the Month - Laura Moore

Meet Laura Moore … Caregiver of the Month … for May.

Laura has over 20 years of caregiving experience as a CNA and a Pharmacy Tech. She accepted an assignment with one of our clients who had cats. Although Laura was not crazy about cats, she took the assignment anyway with the awareness that caring for the pets would not be one of her responsibilities. The client was responsible for caring for her cats; Laura merely provided the shopping for the cats’ food.

As the months passed, our client’s health deteriorated, and she could no longer care for her cats. Without thinking twice, Laura took over the caring of the cats to give the client piece of mind and she would not worry about them.

Not long after, Laura’s care for our client transitioned from personal care to end-of-life care. Laura stayed at the client’s side providing great team updates to HWCG office and the client’s daughter. It was Laura that our client asked to pray for her so she would “have an easy transition.” Amen.

Laura took our philosophy of “caring for our clients as if they are our own family” to heart. Understanding the client’s needs and building trust are two essential ingredients in being a great caregiver.

It is for this and many other reasons, we salute Laura for her outstanding work. She is a dedicated, kind-hearted, compassionate caregiver. At one point in her career, Laura took a sabbatical from her work to care for her own mom when she fell ill.

We need more people like Laura in the world. Thank you!
