It’s been a few years since the passing of my parents due to complications with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Toward the end of their lives, we didn’t know how to deal with the terrible diseases that consumed them. We should have asked for help, but didn’t because we “knew what was best” for our parents.
The genesis of starting this business was to first educate families about aging and help them find a solution that fits them, which I wish I’d done for my parents. I’ve helped hundreds of families with home care and aided others with resources to find appropriate memory care, assisted living, Veteran’s Aid & Attendance, Medicare, and In-Home Supportive Services, to name a few.
I live with my wife and three daughters in the same community we serve and we are honored to provide quality services we would want for our own loved ones.
I have multiple certifications including Health Care Assistant (HCA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and, thanks to an Accounting Career Diploma, am a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
I was inspired to pursue a career in the medical field at the age of 19 while caring for my aunt who became paralyzed from the waist down after a back injury.
I became a CNA in 1998 and later became a CMA in 2003. I worked in an assisted living facility as a Medical Records Supervisor and CNA for five years. I was as an Administrative Assistant for a program dealing with at-risk teens between the ages of 11-17 for 10 years. I worked in an ophthalmologist office as a Medical Office Assistant for two years. I’ve had multiple private clients and have worked for a few agencies throughout my 20 years of caregiving.
I joined the Huntington Newport Beach Homewatch CareGivers team in December 2018 as a caregiver and am now working in the office as a scheduler. I am a wife and mother of three children ages 21,19 and 14. I enjoy traveling, riding my bike and spending time with my family. It gives me great pleasure knowing that I’ve been a help to so many people.
