CELEBRATING 10 YEARS IN BUSINESS
Our road to becoming a Homewatch CareGivers franchise partner began in 1997. My wife, Maria, and I, and our three children were living in Columbus, OH. My mother-in-law, who resided in St. Louis, MO, had become ill. My wife insisted I request a transfer as a Sales Director with Anheuser-Busch Senior Management to St. Louis where she could be near her mother. After 15 years and living in 5 cities, we returned to St. Louis. After 3 years I was faced with a decision to again transfer from St. Louis or change careers after 18 years.
My experience was in sales, marketing, management, and administration. Maria was an entrepreneur. She was an interior designer, owned 2 antique stores, and bought, fixed up, and resold residential properties. Maria performed hours of due diligence to find a business where we could utilize our skills, work together and remain in St. Louis. She focused on industries targeting society's increasing senior population.
Once we chose the industry, we interviewed 5 different franchisors. Homewatch CareGivers was our first choice. We admired the founder, Paul Sauer, and felt comfortable entering into a long-term business relationship with him. We opened our doors for business in March of 2001. Our first client was Maria's mother who is still a client and doing very well.
We now have our two sons working at Homewatch CareGivers of St. Louis, and we are blessed with an excellent, efficient, and caring office manager and highly competent RN. We receive a great deal of enjoyment in providing high quality, affordable home care for our clients. In addition, we take pride in the numerous caregivers' lives we have helped to improve. We run a stern, tight ship, but we are truly one big family at Homewatch CareGivers of St. Louis.
