Care Available 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week.
“I wanted to bring my father home, but after two failed attempts to keep him safe and comfortable at home, I was unsure of what to do…. He was under Hospice care and they recommended that I call Homewatch... It is now just about nine months later and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Homewatch... The best testament that I can give to the level of care, love and compassion that he has received, is that hospice has dismissed him!! I don't think I could ask for anything more!!”

People often ask us to explain the difference between Home Care services and Home Health Care. Although the terms sound similar, they are in fact two very different types of services. One simple way to think about it is that Home Care services are the many things a trained family member could do to assist someone in remaining comfortably in their own home. Whereas Home Health Care services are provided by licensed professionals such as nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists etc.
Many of our clients utilize both types of services. For example, our caregivers can get a client cleaned up and out of bed to be ready to work when their physical therapist arrives. A dietician might come in to provide Diabetes counselling from a Home Health company while a Home Care aide comes in to prepare the meals.
After a doctor’s visit or stay in the hospital, skilled care in the home is arranged in order to get you or a loved one back on your feet. Home healthcare includes:
Home care is about sustaining and maintaining your loved one’s quality of life in their home by assisting with activities of daily living:
While a skilled home healthcare professional changes your loved one’s prescriptions, an in-home caregiver helps them remember to take medications day in and day out. A home healthcare agency can change your loved one’s therapy if it’s not working, and an in-home caregiver is there to encourage them to accomplish those therapies. At Homewatch CareGivers of Bethlehem our person-directed approach to caregiving helps an individual to the best of their current abilities so that they continue to feel empowered and fulfilled.
