Huntington Beach Costa Mesa and Surrounding Areas

When it comes to the cost of home care, the staff at Homewatch CareGivers of Huntington Beach can help you make the best decision. The cost of home in Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and surrounding areas is dependent on many factors. We have caregivers and other trained staff on hand to meet the various needs of our clients. Along with our caregivers, we have LVN/LPN Client Care Coordinator, who is instrumental in training our caregivers and is able to effectively communicate with doctors’ offices. At times, clients don’t totally understand what is wrong with them when they leave the doctor’s office, rehab center or hospital. Our nurse will accompany our clients to their appointments and communicate with the doctor acting as a translator so all medical information is understood.  We will also aid in the facilitation of medication management if needed.

Our caregivers come to us with a wide variety of experience. Before they provide care for our clients they are interviewed by 2 to 3 different people, referenced checked, background and DMV checked. Caregivers experience is typically 4-6 years with a minimum high school or equivalent education. Education does not stop here, we require our caregivers to have an additional 12 hours of coursework with our on-line University. In special situations they will be required to complete specific coursework related to the client to better understand how to apply proper care.

Considerations of the costs of long-term care should factor in many elements.

  • Home care offers personalized, one-to-one social, physical, and cognitive support care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), but home upkeep costs need to be included. Caregivers are trained and supervised by the company.

  • Nursing homes offer private rooms and semi-private rooms, each at different costs with additional charges for various services, including meals.

  • Assisted living facilities are a community-like setting for people who can no longer live independently without help.

  • Adult day services are drop-in centers typically open on weekdays during daytime hours.

With each care option, ask about caregiver to client ratio, how personalized services are for the individual, who is responsible for taxes, insurance and worker's compensation, and find out if there are additional expenses such as meals and utilities. Consider the level of independence for the person receiving each type of long-term care and how this matches with their personality.

The cost of using a home care company varies based on the breadth of services provided and number of hours required. Typically, hourly costs go down as number of hours increases, and fees go up when more skill is needed or desired.

We'd like to get to know you better so we can provide more specific costs for the care you need. Call us today to assess any of these options.
