Care for All Ages in Grand Rapids

At Homewatch CareGivers of Grand Rapids, we provide caregiving for adults, primarily seniors. Yet, we also care for a wide age-range of clients with a variety of needs so there is care for all ages in our community.

We’ve worked with a client who had the early onset of Alzheimer’s in her mid-50s. We had a client, a woman in her 40s, who had MS whom we cared for over several years.

We’ve also cared for a young man with mental challenges. We helped him get dressed each day and then, gave him a ride to work each day.

Another great example of care for all ages is when we cared for a gentleman in his mid-90s who loved being active, but needed help with transportation and basic daily living tasks around his home. He took painting classes, ballroom dance lessons, and loved to attend church. He even collected toy trains and built them. Our caregivers took him to the hobby store to help him find just the right train parts. Our caregivers found joy in helping him participate in all of those activities.

If you have health problems develop during a pregnancy that make it high-risk you may require some additional assistance in the home. If a doctor’s order limits activities or requires the client to be on bed-rest, our caregivers can help manage the day-to-day tasks around the home, assist with activities of daily living, plan and prepare healthy meals.
Complications can arise after the birth of a child, and there is a chance that everyone will be tired and in need of extra help at home in those first few days. Homewatch CareGivers can assist with light housekeeping, laundry, healthy meal planning as well as more personal care assistance for you and the new addition to your family. We can help you get the rest you will need to recover for as little or as long as needed to get you on your feet again during this postpartum period.
Our senior care specialists help your loved one stay independent by helping with personal care issues, like grooming and bathing, to daily living activities, like housekeeping, errands or transportation when they need to get to an appointment. We create our senior-care plans by working with you – our plans are customizable and flexible based on a person’s changing needs over time. Senior care is about having a meaningful connection with a perfectly matched caregiver who can be there to alleviate any feelings of loneliness and helplessness.
When parents miss work due to a child’s illness or there is a breakdown in childcare arrangements, Homewatch CareGivers can help. We are uniquely capable of staffing a compassionate and trained caregiver even at the very last minute to care for your child, healthy or mildly ill, in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. Many of our caregivers are mothers and grandmothers and not only have personal experience with caring for the young, but also have been specially trained in child care to make sure that the experience is enriching and enjoyable for all.
When the whole family plans to attend a special event out of town, consider caregiving services to help out a family member who might need more attention. We will focus on the details needed to provide quality care so that the family can focus on the details of a quality memory in the making. Whether going out for lunch, attending a play, coffee with an old friend, or attending a granddaughter's wedding or a grandson's Bar Mitzvah, our flexible home care services will keep you safely engaged in the lifestyle you choose to lead.
