Agency Registered Nurse

Shannon Baker, RN

Shannon Baker originally received her Registered Nurse license in South Carolina. While living there she had extensive experiences handling a wide array of medical conditions in hospital emergency rooms and working in three level 1 trauma centers.

Her love of these mountains swayed her to move her family to the Asheville area in 2010. Here in Western North Carolina she has worked in a variety of nursing roles including managing care for 28 residents in a skilled nursing facility and providing hands on nursing care for children with severe medical conditions for local home health care agencies.

She accepted an opportunity as a clinical supervisor for an Asheville based healthcare center supervising 28 employees working in three different locations. During this assignment she was responsible for many of their programs including Chronic Care Management, writing clinical care policies and procedures, training of medical assistants, scheduling of staff members, hiring and assessing employees and managing patient satisfaction.

"Nursing is my calling and I cannot think of any other job I would rather do. I think it is highly important for people to feel safe and be cared for in their homes. I'm pleased to be able to work with such an excellent team here at Homewatch to provide support for our clients in the community and for our great care giving staff".

Agency Registered Nurse

Roberta Scott, RN

For 35 years of my nursing career, I helped women and their families transition to a new phase of life with the birth of a child. I felt honored to greet these newborns and to be able to provide the comfort, safety and care needed for these momentous events. This time period was split between Dartmouth-Hitchcock's birthing pavilion in New Hampshire and Sinai Hospital's birthing unit in Baltimore, Maryland. I retired from hospital nursing in 2012.

My husband and I moved from the Green Mountains of Vermont to the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina and we have fallen in love with the Asheville area. After settling in here, I wanted to join an organization that supported elders in need of some assistance at home or who needed personalized care in a facility. Homewatch Caregivers is more than that organization. I have enthusiastically joined Ernie and Brenda Konkoli's team as they reflect the caring, compassionate and supportive environment.

I meet individually with our clients and work with them to establish the best plan of care that supports their needs. I also work with our wonderful caregivers to encourage their growth and skills and to support their challenges of balancing home and work life.
